Ewan heads up the Nomad function at SP Angel, having successfully transferred a team of people and clients to SP Angel in 2012. Prior to joining SP Angel, Ewan spent six years in Corporate Finance at Fairfax I.S. PLC, where he helped to establish the general equities and mining business, and subsequently headed up the corporate finance side of the equities business. Prior to this, Ewan spent a year with Westwind Partners (now part of US Broker Stifel Nicolaus) and five years at Seymour Pierce. Ewan has a broad range of sector experience and is a specialist in the mining sector.
Ewan has a degree in law and a diploma in legal practice from the University of Glasgow, and worked as an international tax consultant for several years prior to his corporate finance career.

John worked at Merrill Lynch for 10 years after obtaining an MBA at INSEAD in 1986. John then spent 5 years at HSBC departing as Deputy CEO of the Investment Banking Division to become Chief Executive of Seymour Pierce, during which time Seymour Pierce acted as Nomad and Broker for over 100 AIM admissions. At SP Angel he has focused particularly in the Real Estate and Logistics sectors having advised both publicly listed and privately owned property and logistics companies on strategic transactions, IPOs and fundraising.

John brings together a detailed knowledge of the mining industry, market strategy and economics through his city career. He is known for funding and analysis of smaller mining companies and for guiding these businesses through the market to greater capitalisation.
John has been ranked No.1 UK small cap metals and mining analyst eight times through his career and was ranked Extel No. 1 analyst for all UK smaller companies in 2006. John has worked for a number of leading securities house through his career building mining teams at three firms. John has also previously worked at Goldman Sachs, SocGen and Montagu Mining Finance, a specialist mining project finance group.

Robert has over 15 years' investment banking experience with 10 years at HSBC Investment Bank, latterly as Managing Director, responsible for the International Equity Capital Markets operation. Previously Robert headed the corporate finance operation of EMG, an investment banking boutique in London. Robert is a Chartered Accountant (PwC) and a graduate of Cambridge University.
